Malaysia to end teaching math and science in English..WAD?!!

im thinking of emailing this to the Star..

I would like to express how very disappointed i am
at our government..
Is the education of the future Malaysian generation a game?
How can you afford to start with English, switch to BM,
switch back to English and then switch back to BM..

is the government trying to waste our time
by telling us that English in Math and Science didnt serve its purposes?
if all the officials know what to do is sit in their offices and read reports
and make deductions and decisions based on that,
SHAME ON THEM!!

the best way to find out whther the whole thing served itz purpose
is to TALK TO THE PEOPLE WHO ARE ACTUALLY "IMMERSED"
in the system..
not read up reports and statistics..

honestly speaking,
do u knw how this has served itz purpose?
i see my Chinese friends speaking english better den b4..
compared to those who stick with vernacular curriculums..

isnt that called serving its purpose?
education is not to train ppl to get a degree..
education is well, TO EDUCATE!!
teaching ppl how to wash dishes is considered education in my book
because it is a skill you learn to live with and use for the rest of your life..

isn't that how education is defined..

you want to know the real problem?
LAZINESS!!
while the government should be tackling this problem in students,
they are trying to change the system..

you DONT change the whole system just because
the reports and statistics are going down
and without knowing the right reason..

lemme give an example...
being brought up in a family where as a kid
i was forced to read a "Peter and Jane" book everynite,
writing comes to me naturally..
since my form 1 days,
i have not gotten an English test result less then 88..
my highest ever was 99.2, and the only mistake i made
was a missing fullstop..

however,
i do not score 99 for bio, chem or phy..
why?
itz in english isnt it?
i for one should be able to score perfect As..
but i dont..
and i admit the reason why..
i havent mastered the topics..
i dont have the head knowledge required for these subjects..

some indians and chinese from vernacular primary schools
are getting less den me in english,
but more then me in the other subjects..
why?
how is this possible?
is it bcz English is failing itz purpose in education?

with much regret,
i say to our Parliment members..
i implore you..
reconsider..

science is this..
if you've got the skills,
you've got the skills whether you know the language or not..

when Tun Mahathir set our education curriculum in English
he set a standard for Malaysia..
in the world's eyes,
we were disreputable,
bcz our nation provided the same and equal if not more condensed
education..

i assure you,
by setting the syllabus back in B.M
the education system is being kicked back into the stone ages..
not because BM is not important..
it is our identity..
it distinguishes us..
sad to say, thatz all it is..

it is not recognized in the world..
no longer is it the lingua franca as in Parameswara's days..

important as it is,
it is just not recognized!
there is no credibility for B.M!

wake up and face the music!
America and China will alwayz be on top..
and as long as a student does not put effort to learn
the head knowledge,
he accomplishes nothing..

focus on whatz important for the future,
and dont get caught up in the moment..

Bersusah-susah dahulu, bersenang-senang kemudian..

focus on wadz important!
MALAYSIA BOLEH!!

I agree. But just so you know, the BM system was initiated by Mr. Mahatir himself. You're looking at a living breathing victim of the system here btw!

This is indeed a step back for our country. As usual they're trying to cure the symptoms of our educations failure, not the cause.

May God help us all.
